This indenture made this twentieth day of Nov in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty five Between John Judd of Chatham County and North Carolina of the one part and Gideon Dickens of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said John Judd for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Gideon Dickens before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold conveyed and delivered and by these presents do bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said Gideon Dickens one certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in Chatham County on both sides of the road from Avents ferry joining the lines of Thomas Springfield and others and bounded as follows (to wit) beginning at a small Black Jack near Zachariah Robards shop and thence runs south seventeen chains and fifty five links to a post oak amongst pointers thence west twenty eight chains and fifty links to a lightwood stake four Black Jack pointers thence north seventeen chains and fifty five links to a lightwood stake in Thomas Springfields line one pine and three Black Jack pointers thence with Springfields line east to the beginning
To have and to hold the aforesaid land and premise to the said Gideon Dickens together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging with all hereditaments thereunto belonging and the said John Judd

for himself his heirs executors administrators or assigns do by these presents warrant and forever defend the aforesaid land and premises free and clear from his heirs executors administrators and assigns and from the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever to the said G. This Indenture made this the 4th day of November in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty five between Thomas Springfield of the County of Chatham and State of North Carolina of the one part and Joseph Avent of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Thomas Springfield for and in consideration of the sum of Seven Hundred and Fifty Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Joseph Avent the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and himself therewith fully satisfied hath given bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents doth fully clear and absolutely give bargain sell and convey to him the said Joseph Avent his heirs and assigns forever two certain tracts of land in one being in the County and State aforesaid lying on Henry’s branch waters of Cape Fear Beginning at a dead pine Drake’s corner and running East twenty two poles to a white white oak Yarborough’s corner then south with his line seventeen poles and four links to a small pine thence West with Judd’s line ninety nine poles to a stake in the old line thence South with said line thirty seven poles to a stake thence North One Hundred and Twenty poles to a pine in Abner Hill’s line thence East two hundred and forty poles to a Red Oak on the Ferry Road thence South across ^Henry’s branch and^ the said road sixty six poles to the first station containing One Hundred and Sixty Four and a half Acres be the same more or less with all the revision and revisions, remainder and remainders To Have and To Hold the said land and premises together with all and singularly the appurtenances thereunto belonging as in any wise appertaining to the said bargained

This indenture made this third day of April in the year of Our Lord Christ One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty nine between Kinchen Roberts of the County of Chatham and State of North Carolina of the one part and Thomas Springfield of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Eighteen Dollars and five cents to me in hand paid by the said Springfield the receipt thereof I do hearby acknowledge and myself fully paid hath bargained sold and delivered unto the said Springfield all of interest to the lands undivided lands of Ishmael Roberts Deceased being a legatee of said Ishmael Roberts Deceased of Chatham County and State of North Carolina the lands lying on Bush Creek ajoining the Rossers, Yarboroughs Thomas and others, supposed to be One Hundred and Fifty acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the aforesaid land and premises together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the aforesaid Thomas Springfield his heirs and assigns forever

This Indenture made this 25th day of December in the year of Our Lord Christ One Thousand Eight hundred and Twenty Eight Between Kinchen Roberts of Chatham County and the State of North Carolina of the one part and Thomas Springfield of the other part of the county and state aforesaid witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred Dollars to me in hand paid by Thomas Springfield aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and myself therewith fully satisfied and paid I have bargained sold conveyed and delivered and by these presents doth bargain sell convey settover and deliver unto Thomas Springfield his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcil of lands situate lying and being in the County of Chatham aforesaid and on the south side of Cape Fear River Beginning at a dead pine Drake’s corner then west 77 poles to a Black Ooak at Brassel’s corner the South 54 poles to a stake in Brassel’s line thence west 163 poles to a stake then north 120 poles to a pine in Abner Hill’s line then East across Henry’s Branch 240 poles to a Red Oak in the Ferry Road the across the Ferry Road 66 poles to the beginning containning by

This Indenture made this 2nd day of ______ in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one, between Hardy Christian and Ruthy Christian his wife of the County of Chatham and State of North Carolina of the one part, and Thomas Springfield of the County and State aforesaid of the other part – Witnesseth that the said Hardy Christian and Ruthy his wife for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said Thomas Springfield, the receipt whereof the said Hardy Christian and Ruthy his wife doth hereby acknowledge, hath given, granted, bargained and sold, alliened and confirmed and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain and sell, allien and confirm unto the said Thomas Springfield his heirs and assigns forever, One Third part of all that tract of land, situate, lying and being in the County of Chatham, on the waters of the Cape Fear River, better known and distinguished as the tract of land formerly owned by Benjamin Rush, Senior, Deceased, and from him descended to his son Benjamin Rush who is since deceased and has now descended to his three sisters, Ruthy Christian, Elizabeth Perkins, and Judith Avent, which said tract of land is at present occupied by the wife of the said Benjamin Rush, Senior, Deceased. And which said third part of the tract of land is hereby intended to be conveyed by the said Hardy Christian and Ruthy Christian

his wife unto the said Thomas Springfield, and also, all the woods, ways, water and water courses and all and every the appurtenances thereunto belonging, as in any wise appertaining, and the revision and revisions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues and profits, all of the aforesaid land and premises, and every part thereof, and all the state, right, title, interest, claim, property and demand of the said Hardy Christian and Ruthy Christian his wife, of, in, and to the land and premises hereby granted: To Have and To Hold the aforesaid lands and premises, with the appurtenances, unto the said Thomas Springfield, his heirs and assigns, to the proper use and behoof of the said Thomas Springfield his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Hardy Christian and Ruthy his wife for themselves and their heirs, doth hereby forever warrant and defend the aforesaid land and premises, and every part thereof, against themselves and their heirs, and against the claim or claims of all and every other person or persons, whatsoever, to the said Thomas Springfield, his heirs and assigns,
